Andropause or male transition is a condition where testosterone decreases in men over 50 years of age. This manifests itself on the psychological level, especially by mood swings, greater fatigue, irritability and an overall decrease in energy. In the area of sex, erection problems also occur in addition to reducing the appetite for sex. Hormonal changes also have a similar effect to women, increasing fat levels and with it the risk of heart and blood vessel diseases. Bone mass is diminishing. From a Chinese medicine perspective, there is a decrease in the yang and yin energy of the Shen (kidney). Shen kidney doesn’t anchor the fire that escapes to the Xin (heart) adequately and heats it. There is a disconnection of fire and water. The hotness in the heart annoys Shen's soul and creates various psychological imbalances. Typically, irritability or inadequate responses to common situations.

  • calms Shen spirit
